Amber Aged Care strives to provide high quality aged care to the South Australian community. We work to provide all residents with a culturally diverse and meaningful environment and especially to those with an Estonian, Latvian or Lithuanian heritage. Professional care and support services are provided within a framework of continuous improvement and we regularly consult and collaborate with our members to establish and maintain a future which meets the needs of our community, our philosophy and our resources.
Our Care
The home is unique in characteristic that its layout and style enables us to provide a warm homely environment for residents. Our staff pool is small, creating very personal relationships between the residents and our care team.
Our Community
Amber Aged Care is a 40 bed aged care facility situated in the north eastern suburb of Paradise. The accommodation consists of 8 rooms per house with a central lounge and private dining area. Amber Aged Care has undercover outdoor areas and wide open spaces.
Our dedicated staff are devoted to giving residents the best quality of life possible. Our staff pool is small creating very personal relationships with our residents in a warm and homely environment. We support and encourage staff training and development and aim for best practice
Our residents
Finding joy through friendship, creativity and meaningful daily routines
Every afternoon, Bronwyn, Doris, and Valerie gather at the big round table near the sunny window. It is their favourite spot; quiet, bright, and perfect for a good chat.
Valerie always brings her knitting bag. As soon as she sits down, her needles begin to click softly as she worked on her beautiful cardigan. She loves talking about new patterns and showing Bronwyn and Doris the soft, cosy yarn she chose for her project. Bronwyn and Doris enjoy knitting as well, but they are also the creative pair of the group. They love arts and crafts, always sharing ideas for card-making, painting little ornaments, or decorating photo frames. Their eyes light up whenever they talked about their next project.
As they chat, laugh, and compare their work, the room feels warm and lively. After finishing their tea, they packed away their knitting and craft supplies. It is their daily routine.
Then comes their favourite part, playing cards. The three friends shuffled the deck, tease each other playfully, and enjoy every moment of their friendly competition.
Their afternoons are simple, but filled with companionship, creativity, and joy.
